Blimey, Spurs produce a run of leggy rubbish results culminating in yesterday’s witless shitshow implosion and somehow we’ve not so much got away with murder this weekend, but we’re standing over the body, blood all over us holding a knife and the whole thing has been live-streamed to all 8 billion people on the planet and yet somehow we’ve got off on a technicality
The thing I find most disturbing is the idea that Arsenal can't make up an 8-goal swing... People are talking as though Arsenal are mathematically unable to finish 4th. We are talking Spursey here so this is madness.
Arsenal don't need to win 8-0 they need Spurs to lose, for example, 4-0 to Everton and for they themselves to beat Burnley 5-0. Does no one remember, a few seasons back, all we had to do was beat relegated Newcastle on the last day of the season to finish 2nd above Arsenal??? We lost 5-1 and Arsenal finished ahead of us!! That occasion too was brought about by an end of season collapse. Add in that Everton are on great form and we are absolutely dire and, well......
So no, with a CL semi-final 2nd leg and a winner take all premiership decider to follow, May remains firmly cancelled.
Well done Plymouth for getting relegated and Exeter for somehow finishing outside the play-off places. At least Torquay are back in the 5th tier next year.
And spare a thought for the oldest football league club, and founder members of the Football League, Notts County. They will be joining Torquay next year [:(]

Thoughts? Well Brighton, or Brighton & Hove to give it its full title, was where ABBA won the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest. I think it should be commended for that alone.

Guys, I just want to quote Warspite in another forum before the game. [:D][8D]

Sadly the Dutch have this one covered [:(] I am hoping Spurs don't embarrass themselves and can avoid a cricket score, but I'm not hopeful [X(]. Liverpool vs Ajax in the final will be a good game - two incredibly attacking teams.

I've always said that football is the greatest game on earth and that we were most likely to win tonight. I've always said this and I'm unanimous in that.....
Don't want to think about the final and having to play the Red Machine - I'm just pleased we are there. I said a little prayer to my dad - with two minutes of extra time to go - if he's up there and watching this, now's the time for a little heavenly assistance. God bless you dad! [8D]

Poor, poor Ajax. It was always kids vs grown-ups, and they had no answer when Spurs changed to a more direct approach.
Twice Poch tried to match them with a similar playing style, twice he was forced to adapt to use their more physical players to give an edge instead. Quite incredible, really.
