Interdiction and Fleets

Warplan is a World War 2 simulation engine. It is a balance of realism and playability incorporating the best from 50 years of World War 2 board wargaming.

Interdiction and Fleets

Post by Hairog »

Glad to see the concept of air interdiction is on the radar. This was a major role of air power in WWII and seldom simulated

Same goes for fleet actions or better yet naval task forces.

Is combat resolution odds based with traditional loss of points and retreat etc.?

Combat odds is direct firepower modified by terrain and weather.

Generally 3:1 is a fair attack.

Naval combat has no interceptions because in a computer game of this scale it is incredibly hard to simulate correctly to allow the A.I. to intercept for the human player when it isn't their turn. Instead sea control is vital to keeping supply and invasions going. There should be no lack of combat. The naval system took me a year to work out.

"The naval system took me a year to work out."

I believe it. I did a naval mod for another simulation using zones of control and task forces. It seems to be well accepted and working for most who try it.
