Can only open scenario from default folder

This is very frustrating--I have all of my TOAW files under the Documents folder. When the Steam "update" came along, it moved everything under a Matrix games folder instead.

Now when I try to open a scenario from under the Documents folder--where are my files are--while it allows me to choose a new folder, it then ignores that selection and only gives me the option of opening scenarios under the Matrix games folder.

Why? How to fix? This is a huge time sink and frustration for me.

Is this from the scenario editor? The scenario editor will only open from a folder that was last opened in the game. To get to any other folder you have to manually navigate to it. If I know the last scenario I opened in the game was in a folder other than the one I want to edit from I start with New Game. From there I navigate to the folder I want to edit in and open a scenario. Then I go to the editor so the folder I need to work in is now the default folder. It's a pain in the azz and I don't know why it is even like that. [:@]
