Move ships game stopper Red Sea

Post by Majorball68 »

Still using 2.7.1 but it doesnt matter what version you use. Trying to move the CP from the Red Sea to a port crashes game just by selecting it. We originally had the issue during Naval combat when the last aborted ship would crash the game so decided to try and return the ship to port during CW naval moves. Any attempt to select the CP in the Red sea crashes the game. Have tried editing it to a port, destroying it in naval combat all results in a game crash and making the game non playable without just leaving the CP at Sea. If someone could correct the save or identify the issue it would be very much appreciated.

Major,
Yep. it freezes alright. I might be able to fix using "debug" but all of my older versions before 2.7.1.0 are all beta tester with .01, FOREX 2.7.1.1 version number at the end. If I fix it and send you a later version that is posted for the customers then you will have to upgrade your version to that later version than 2.7.1.0.

Perhaps Paul or Peter have customer versions 2.7.1.0 and can "debug" the unit away.

The game goes into an undefined loop. I think it has something to do with supply calculations...

I've tried to fix this using the debug tools, but after moving the convoy to port, the game again goes into that same loop...

It could be related to a supply issue because when I left the transport now in Suez there as the last unit to return to base the game froze as well. Thought it might also be related to the US not being in the war vs Ge/It.

We are working around it at the moment but its a pain.

If anyone is working this bug, it appears to be an issue with Supply and having neutral US CP in the supply chain as Japan is at War with CW and USA but USA is not at war with Germany and/Italy(Should still be able to use US CP for supply). When Ge/It DOW USA the bug disappeared and the CP was able to go port. We had to work around it for a couple of turns until this happened.

I am catching up on the Tech Support posts this week. I'll take a look at most of them to confirm they still exist, and if they are easy to fix, try to do that.

No promises about when this will be resolved, but it has now at least made it to my task list.
