Graphical Oddity when switching games

Post by Taxman66 »

Started a pbem 'base' Storm 1939 game.
Played a few turns, with no issues.
Started a solo (vs AI) Mod game, with Mod loaded from the Campaigns folder.
(Mod loads historical flags and pictures from a 'Media' sub folder which is why it is in the Campaign folder and not in the Mod folder).
On my next pbem game turn, noticed that the historical flags were displayed, and not base game graphics.
After I completed the pbem turn, I started a solo (vs AI) base Storm 1939 game and the correct graphics showed up at the game start.
I didn't save this, just wanted to see if the correct graphics showed and wondered if it would reset the pbem graphics.
On the following pbem game turn, noticed again that the historical flags are still being displayed.

Running the Matrix version of the game.
Running Win 7
Mod is located in: My Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War In Europe\Campaigns
Files there:
_1939 Historical Flags folder
1939 Historical Flags.cgn
1939 Historical Flags.dat

Hi Taxman66,

Thanks for the report and is it just the flags that seem to be stuck in graphical memory, or are there other modifications that are showing incorrectly as well when switching between default and modified graphics?

Possesion flags on the map.
ID flags on diplo screen, Reports screen, etc..
Flags on German HQs.
Flags on turn start Notification messages.
Every flag that is visible to me, as far as I can tell.

Can't tell about the pop-up media pictures since I'm playing the Allied side.

I'm not using any counter or map mods, so can't provide any information about that.

Just to confirm, is this with the new v1.16.01 release, or with the previous v1.16.00 Beta?

1.16 release.
Never loaded the beta and haven't pulled the hot fix (not sure if it would work with with pbem... or would require both sides to update).

Hi Taxman66,

I've tried repeating the exact steps you've described above but am so far unable to repeat this. Have you installed another Historical Flags mod that you can turn on or off in the SETTINGS->MODS screen by any chance?

Originally I put the mod in the Mods folder and tried it that way but discovered that doing that wouldn't pull/use the pictures in the media sub folder.
So I moved it to the campaigns folder.

Update:
I believe you are correct.
It looks like I copied the mod from the Mods folder into the Campaign folder instead of moving it.
I have just now unchecked the mod in the Settings, and then went and deleted it from the Mods folder (keeping it in the campaign folder).
I presume that will correct the issue, and will let you know after my next pbem turn.

It's fixed.
Apologies for the false alarm.
