This is the overview of the south. I am only defending victory point locations. I simply do not have the forces to spare to defend everywhere. The small blue dots are units dropping all the bridges in an effort to impose some delay upon Willie.

Willie has now made contact with the strongest point in my last MLR. The first 3 lines are at 150% supply and 100% readiness. The next 5 lines behind are all in the 90% range and improving. If Willie attacks here I am hoping for a 20 turn delay for him to fight his way through the area. He will then have to fight through the Berlin defensive area and I am now retaining my strongest units for that fight. He only has 74 turns left to win.

Willie is approx 250kms ahead of his rail heads. I am not sure how his supply levels are going and what effort that is having on his forces.

The start of turn 326. Willie is bring his forces up to the front line and is advancing in the south. I am not sure if he will attack head on or try and flank me from the south. The 2 red arrows.

The start of turn 327. Willie only has 73 turns left to win.

My current thinking is that Willie will attack on 4 axis's

1. Will be his main effort because he does not have to worry about casualties and it is the shortest route.

2. Attacking on route 2 will open up my northern flank and may draw forces away from the centre. How ever the terrain does assist my defence. Willies problem is that he does not know if one of those blue dots is a company or panzer division.

3&4 Attacking from the south and then the west. It is the longest way and as can been seen my defence in the Last MLR is not that thick. However I have used the last couple of turns start another line (red circle) and over the next couple of turns start on the red circle with lines in it.

Very likely. When you have an abundance of resources it's always better to engage the enemy in multiple points so they can't just focus all their defenses on a single axis.

Cfant (sorry I do not know your Christian name) it is not over until the fat lady sings and she not currently in the building.

This is a summary of how I current see things. Willies rail heads are at 123,327 & 126,315 & 139,327 & 151,363.

His closest units are on the 74 hex line (closest is at 74,329) and he has to get to 49,324 in 71 moves to win, 82 moves for a draw and after that I win. With all my previous MLRs Willie has taken at least 2-3 moves to break the line. Once he has made a hole I have had to step back.

The current situation is different in that there is no place in the centre that he can break in. In the centre each hex is held by a Bn+ with Hexes closet to 49,324 filling up with Regt's. I also have 3 rings of antitank guns around Berlin. There is no need to step back. 25 hex lines with 2-3-4-5 (?) turns per line. There is also a super river to cross.

To the south he can fight his way through the MLR which is now 3 hexes deep. But I am now starting another MLR between the current MLR and the Berlin defensive area. He is yet to make contact in the south. 8-10 turns before he is ready to attack there?

In the north he is still 20 hex lines away and then he has to fight in a 3 hex corridor that how has 4 lines of defence and improving.

Also I am now on interior lines and it is easy for me to move my reserves whereas once Willie commits to one line of attack it will not be so easy to shift his effort.

Of cause he could wait until he builds up on all three sides so I am spread very thinly. But that will take time and does he have enough?

This game will go down to the line. Last time I played Willie I only lost by 20 something turns and that was because I made a mistake from which I could not recover.

But having said that DO NOT place any money on me winning as I am not that confident. Yet.

Wow, sounds like a plan. A good one actually [:)] You are experienced in this scenario, so I guess you get your numbers right. But please keep in mind, that the Soviets have LOTS of troops and can rotate. If I was your opponent, I would not wait everything to be perfect to attack, but start immidiatly to wear down your defensed, while my best troops rest and prepare. But we will see - it will be a heartbeat final [:)]

Wonderful game so far. Looks like it's coming down to the wire as to who wins. I'm proud of both of you for playing this game so long.

This is an overview of the southern part of the map with units turned off. No free kicks here for Willie. As can been seen from the panel I do still have some strong forces down here. The question is should I attack and just leave the burden to Willie.
