Requests about Japanese weaponry.
(sorry if someone already requested/my poor research)

1. No Torpedo Tube for Izumo-class DDH
While Hyuga-class DDH has 324mm TT (and Mk.41 VLS), Izumo-class (carrier?) has neither of them.
Some websites say that it’s because they are expended for air facilities.

Specifications:
http://www.navyrecognition.com/index.ph ... le&id=1182
http://www.military-today.com/navy/izumo_class.htm
I should have checked Jane’s in the first place, but don’t you think latest editions are hopelessly expensive?

These websites states about reduced self-defence armament compared to Hyuga:
https://www.rina.org.uk/Izumo_class_far ... sense.html
https://www.businessinsider.com/how-jap ... ops-2016-8

2. Maya-class DDG/Asahi-class DD
For the last years, new faces came to JMSDF.
Maya-class DDG (27 DDG-class) – 2020
Maya (DDG-179)/(not named) 28 DDG (DDG-180)
Features:
advanced CEC-capability with Baseline 9C/SM-6 and Aegis BMD 5.1/SM-3 Block IIA.
COGLAG propulsion system.
new AN/SPQ-9B SS radar.

https://www.janes.com/article/82721/jap ... e-missiles
http://www.navyrecognition.com/index.ph ... royer.html

Asahi-class DD (25 DD-class) - 2018
Asahi (DD-119)/Shiranui (DD-120)
Features:
ASW-variant of Akizuki-class DD with Type-07 VL-ASROCK (new ASROC, see below) and OQR-4 TASS.
COGLAG propulsion system.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asahi-class_destroyer
https://www.globalsecurity.org/military ... n/25dd.htm

3. about Type-97 Torpedoes
I’m sad that none of Japanese unit use newer Type-97 torpedo in game
SH-60K can equip Type-97 Light torpedo while older SH-60J could only Mk.46.
P-1 (and maybe, P-3C) also carries Type 97.
For torpedo tubes on surface ships, Hyuga, Izumo, Akizuki, and Asahi-class uses HOS-303 324mm TT which can launch Type 97.

https://books.google.co.jp/books?id=lo0 ... es&f=false
http://www.military-today.com/aircraft/kawasaki_p1.htm

Type 07 VL-ASROC is newer SUM which uses Type-97 for its warhead.
from Teruzuki (second ship of Akizuki-class), DD installs Type 07 for their SUM.

Loadouts look like everybody elses Cobras (rockets, Tows etc)
Sipri say Tow-2A/B transitions 2002

2015 looks like update for AAR-47 warning system and ALE-47 countermeasures. This on US models

An old Harpooner is back after many years.
Other that the Trieste several new addition are planned for the Italian Navy, and a lot of ship are in decomissioning.
the latest new construction are:
UNPAV Angelo Cabrini class - high speed patrol boat for the NAvy special force
A5335 Vulcano the new logistic ship launched last year and base for the new four Franch logistic ship
the PPA pattugliatore polivalente d'altura (Offshore Multipurpose Patrol Ship) the first will be launched the 15 june (named Paolo Thaon di Revel no pennant number avaible yet)
of the PPA class 7 are financed 4 in building and 10 are planned but it seems that the last 3 will be replaced by a new project in cooperation with France called European Patrol Corvette, our Navy "discover" that a patrol ship of 6000 ton is too big.
thank for take in considaration.
