Do Axis minor units respawn if destroyed?

Like it says. I thought I saw a Romanian unit respawn once but looking at the manual, it refers only to German (and Soviet) units.

I lost 2 hungarian divisions once and they respawned.

I think all on map units respawn now. But I'm not sure if support units respawn. I think not.

I can confirm cases of Rumanian SUs (non-withdrawing) being destroyed and not respawning (Screenshots available if needed). What the reason is I do not know.

1.08.08 suggests they should respawn:

40. Destroyed units of Axis allies, as well as all Axis support units will return as German onmap units do. On-map units will be frozen on refit for 3 turns with MAX TOE set to 50. Usually they will be placed in westernmost city having the same nationality. Support units will arrive at their national HQ with MAX TOE set to 50. There will be a message in the logistics log for every such unit.

Also if I understand it correctly German support units that are withdrawing/disbanding do not respawn.

for example in the 8MP game 2/46 SP flak coy which goes on turn 50 was destroyed on turn 36.

If Soviet support units surrender (eg attached to a surrendering fort) they get respawned, if they are destroyed they do not. Thats how it used to be.

Think I vaguely remember that but it never made sense then and still doesn't.

I came to a conclusion that this whole part needs a rewrite, as it is a mess right now, of too many add-ons over a very simple base.
