Sequence of my turn planning:

1. Check Ops report for reinforcements
2. Check Int screen for withdrawal dates
3. Plan to transfer reinforcement if needed, adjust training levels if a/c
3. Check bases low on supply
4. Plan routine/transport TFs going clockwise: PH - N. Pac. - West Coast - East USA - Panama - NZ - AUS and islands east - Cape Town - Aden - Abadan - India - Burma - China - (rarely Soviet Union to adjust a/c training levels)
5. Plan ground movement same time
6. Plan combat TFs
7. Plan ground combat

This way I can do most turns in 10-15 mins, depending on situation.

I almost never check SigInt, since playing vs. AI and giving it bit of edge.
Playing 2-day turns helps AI too, since it can change order every day.

5th AUS Div got good news that happy times are over and PM is now AUS territory where they should serve. I hope they are bringing mosquito and cannibal repellents.

Historically, CMF units were not required to serve outside AUS.

Just reading this - very good AAR.

The CMF (AMF) units could be sent to PNG because it was historically Australian territory (Papua) or mandate territory after WW1 (that formerly belonged to the Kaiser) being NG (but not the NEI part) and some bits of the Solomons.

In February 1943 the politicos changed the legislation, so that AMF units could be sent offshore, limited to an area south of the equator, and bordered by the Solomons in the east, and Borneo/Java (partly) in the West. Also they brought in rules that if 75% of an AMF unit volunteered, or that if a unit was made up of 67% AIF personnel, the rest of the chaps also were deemed to have also "volunteered".

IJN is frequently raiding Bay of Bengal to disrupt my CS convoys to Rangoon. Port Blair and Rangoon bombers can often make it costly, though. But it's annoying, especially when having only 1 CV in area.

Nov 6 1942:

Note the high a/c losses of IJ. Most of them were over Port Moresby, where IJN carrier planes are steadily decimated flying against combined AUS/US air units.

Due to heavy SDB-3 losses in Port Moresby, CV Hornet is still sporting SBC-4 Helldivers... I'd say that biplanes are BIT obsolete in 1942.
