I have a Theorem that when drawing socks one-at-a-time blindly, I will always draw mismatches until all the mismatches are exhausted. If I could only get funding to prove this! It would be a great step towards solving the P vs. NP problem.

i showed my wife this who works in academia and she automatically recognised it as a joke - and several of the follow ups too - to me, it seems like a lot of work for joke and one that i would think few are going to read, but in her view a joke study like this doesnt take much effort at all

apparently also some academics/researchers etc get so sick of being bombarded with requests from predator journals that they do this to troll them

well my wife says the study actually would have been really carried out after looking over its method, but that really there was still not much more to it than staff buying some spoons and marking them and that this would likely have just been a spare time bit of fun - apparently there are researchers out there for who things like this - doing studies and applying scientific rigour is their idea of fun - i know my wife finds math anre excel a lot more fun than i ever will, - but then she sees me playing turnbased wargame and thinks its the most boring thing in the world and cannot understand why i would ever play such a thing.
