My old copies seem to work OK on Windows 10 laptops anyway - sometimes I need to alt-tab a bit when it delays loading the graphics. These are still my favourite goto game for an hour or two of quick random wargaming. Modern graphics - who needs it. They still run brilliantly on my XP laptops too.

I've had these forever. What difference would drm free make?

I have these all on disk also but last time I tried I couldn't get wide screen to work or find the no CD unofficial patch. If these work on wide screen I'll pick them up sooner or later.

Greetings Lobster,
Some older retail copies such as CDV versions had some copy protection which Win 10 would not run.
Also, later BFC updates to the retail versions would require disks to be in the hard drive to run the game (angered me a lot).
If you have versions that already run then you would not need the GOG versions.

Greetings altipueri,
I completely agree that the original Combat Mission games are a blast to play even though I own CMBN, CMFI, CMRT & CMFB.

Great games.
Concerning the Game Details they list though, I think the release date for at least Beyond Overlord is wrong. They have it as January 11, 2001, when I remember with certainty that I was playing it on election day, November 7, 2000. I even remember which scenario I played. Looking at my CD for this game, it indeed has a copyright of 2000, not 2001.
I'm also under the impression that the release dates they list for the other two games are a bit early, although I'm not quite as sure about those.

I am going to buy the Cmbb, see how it works and go from there. I first will try my originals but I have them as an iso and I think I had problems.

Yup, so I was right about CMBO as having been released in 2000, not 2001. They did get the latter two game dates right.
No big deal.

Greetings budd,
Here is the link to the Battlefront forum thread on GOG CMx1 series release:
http://community.battlefront.com/topic/135138-cm1-gog/

Check the top post on page 2 for GOG version infocompared to previous ones.
Also, some interesting posts by Battlefront administrators on making it available on GOG.
Wonder if the original CM Shock Force and CM Afghanistan might be released on GOG at some point.
Battlefront posts they need at least double sales, to break even, if they release newer titles using online game platform.

I just bought CMBB and it works perfectly. It's also version 1.03!! The only thing that is different is:

How do I make it a full screen?

How do you do multiple waypoints? It doesn't work like the other newer games with the right click. If I wanted to use the move command I would click on M each time to set the path.

Greetings demyansk,
There was a version 1.04 patch by Battlefront ($5) but not available for sale any longer.
Hopefully, Battlefront will supply it to GOG version soon.
Full screen is a problem since code was written when 800 x 600 & 1024 x 768 were standard.
There might be a way to do it but I do not know how on higher resolutions.

Possible solutions:

I bought CMBB also, unfortunately the sound doesn't work, i turned in a support ticket with GOG. It's probably a .dll file issue. I did get it to stretch to full screen. When the screen resolution choice came up at game start i chose the 1440x1020, i think that was the one. Then in the CMBB folder there is a utility called dxcfg, start that and you can adjust some video settings. Here's what works for me to get it to go full screen. I think disabling the aspect ratio and choosing windowed mode is what did it.

For waypoints just right click to set, left click only does one order. You'll have to hit the key corresponding key to the next order when setting multiple waypoints.

I was testing with heavy fog, i know some folks have had problems with that. If i can get my sound issue worked out i'll get the other two games and then start adding mods. I'd recommend the mod manager MCMMM, i did load a tree mod as a test.

Greetings budd,
I got CM Beyond Overlord and CM Barbarossa to Berlin to be in full screen stretch mode using your suggestion.
I have sound for both with no problems. I would suggest a reinstall to see if that fixes the sound issue.
Now I need to get CM Afrika Korps next. Note that there is extra content with some mods included in the game folder.
