Mortar Units Fire Support?

Post by rob89 »

Hi,

a simple question :

a Mortar Unit (HyMortar icon), with 120mm, a range of 1 hex and deployed just back the front line, could support the infantry in front if they are attacked?

I ask because I never seen , in cases like this, the combat report mentioning the mortar support

thanks in advance ... :)

If it is in a support deployment (dug-in or reserve).

Also, if placed directly on the line, it can bombard or support assaults.
