Description of Game Crashing

Post by xenthypies »

We are attempting to send you files but finding it impossible at this time.
So here is a detailed description hoping you can simulate it in your program.
It is S/O39 and Axis phase#3.
Dow on Netherlands by both Japan and Germany.
Netherlands aligns to CW.
Germany does a Land
Japan does a Combined.
Japan picks up troops from Japan to South China Sea, Marines on Trans and HQ on Amphibious.
Germany attacks Warsaw and Amsterdam.
In Land Movement Japan moves no troops, in the Invasion Phase Japan lands troops two hexes away from Bativia in an open hex, must fight the Notational One Point defense.
German Attacks are sorted thru no problem.
In the Land Combat Subphase segment and Advance After Combat the game freezes. THe combat is determined, it pulls up screen and shows results. No troops can advance into the hex that was attacked.

We then rebooted the game going back to our last save and the game locked up after the Japan Land Movement Phase. We have had this same crash in previous games with the same previous tactic attempted. If Japan uses a Naval Move and puts troops up to see and in the next Impulse takes a Land Movement, the game locks up before the Invasion Phase.
I hope this helps,
We are working on getting to send you games. The issues is that my computer does not find the .GAM files, ie does not display them. Path is C: Program Files9x86)/Matrix Games/World in Flames/Scenarios/Global War/Saved Games and then no files listed. I tell you this to say "I know where I am looking" unless I am looking in the wrong file.
I hope this helps work it out because the game is great and you have done Herculean work and we appreciate it.
Perhaps by next month we will be able to send games.

Just out of curiosity, what version of MWiF are you using? Thanks, Don.

The question Timian has asked is a valid one.

It's very strange that you cannot find the netplay gamesaves. They should be there with NP as the first two letters (for Netplay).

If you can load saved games from the MWiF opening screen, then you should be able to use the "browse" button and then click the drop down arrow at the top of that dialog and it should reveal the path to where the saved games are. Once you find them, you have to zip them before you can post them here.

You shouldn't even need to go to all that trouble. The location of saved games is clearly displayed beneath the buttons.
