China
• The Empire continues shuffling in fresh forces to the points of attack, we keep starving.

India, Burma, Thailand, Indochina
• No enemy sub activity detected.

• We continue building both defense for our positions in Burma plus bringing in more troops to more places to commence assault. Too late for China, I fear. And will it be too late for Burma once Imperial troops in China are released? The world wonders.

In my games, I seem to always sink them before 1942 ends, too![:)] However, I have only gotten the Triomphant once, in this game.[:(] Come to think on it, I think I get them with torpedoes every time, too. What is their experience level?

Notice there is an Imperial unit moving into China which might have come from Myitkina (or possibly Bhamo). We have troops moving on Warazup and Myitkina now.

an embarrassing response, I hope I have as much China as you do in three months. (face palm)[:D]
Francois's approach was/is hard to watch from the Allied side. If I had a clue what he was doing in
January, I doubt I could have held it up more than several weeks. I have gone back to Alfred's China
defense laid out in some detail but fail to see how to stop IJA armor from cutting off the north and
cutting directly into rural areas setting up three sided advances.

Apart from knowing I always make mistakes (whether outright or just not seeing/doing something as soon as I could have), I'm not sure either. In this case I know I could have gotten more good troops into the mountains sooner, but dastardly Walter (mentally insert photo of Snidely Whiplash from old movie here) took a major lesson on that point from our last game and I failed to anticipate how effectively he had upped that particular priority.

I also could and should have sent additional 4EB groups to India sooner.

India, Burma, Thailand, Indochina
• Enemy sub activity near Bombay.

• Possibly significant changes, or it could be a trap. The enemy division standing against our >900AV Chinese Army unit has moved instead to the SW hex, just west of Katha. The door to Katha itself is now open. Three units are there with 1,940 troops, 42 guns, and 11 AFV. That recon could be weak or other units could be on their way now. Also at least one unit is moving west, out of Katha to the main effort hex.

• The large 3rd New Chinese Corps will move on Katha will all haste. The small armored unit will remain behind to hold open the hex in case this is a trap. A Bn is most of the way across the river to reinforce them (and now will not need to shock attack!), and a Bde from the hex just west is now moving to join them also.

• One Bde has cleared the river and is approaching Warazup (just outside Myitkyina) with another close behind.
