Version compatibility

When reading my opponents save file during a PBEM I get the below error. It prevents opening the file. It appears that I have an older version (but it is the current version available V3.0.2.0)

2 questions:

- Is there a newer version V3.0.2.1 out that I don't see in the download section?

- Can I fix the incompatibility by just manually editing the version number? It appears to work in this instance but I am not sure if there will be misreads later on if the file formats have changed.

Almost always it is safe to manually edit the game file and change the version number to your version. Certainly in this case it is.

Version 3.0.2.1 is a Hot Patch - available in the forum.

I do not recommend changing the version number in a saved game (GAM) file. I am not responsible for whatever happens after you do that.
