How about the DFA issues? This is the second time I fought someone online, jumped into his hex and ended up landing smoothly right in front of his guns as opposed to forcefully right on top of his head.

Any factors that need to be taken into account besides two working legs, a set of jump jets and some Jumping/CC skill?

If I recall correctly, you can't DFA into heavy cover.

?? Yes you can Michael. It's harder, but you can.

Silvermane, maybe one of your legs wasn't fully recycled? Both have to be. (this is not new in WS)

I found the reason. Both times, the opponent was standing in forest hex. For some odd reason, I cannot seem to perform a DFA into one of those (using an elite random pilot). Legs were recycled, and I managed to recreate the occurence in an offline game.

I'd like to note that I didn't even get the requester asking me if I would like to charge. I simply landed, got the usual skillcheck for that and ended up right in front of a few loaded guns.

Won nicely against Hetz in assaults. I had a Mangler (6 or so AC4s, 1 AC7, 1 AC12), he had something with a PG, 2 EMPs, and a TB. I had the range advantage, and used it as much possible. Combined with the firing rate of those AC4s, I was able to wear away his armor pretty heavily before he got close enough to do much. Once he arrived, I had several rather tense moments as he knocked me down a couple times. Added to that, I managed to fail my standing pilot check at 85% twice. While down, though, I took out his RT, which gave me the edge again. When I stood, I unloaded and fragged his heat reg. He took another shot with the TB and overheated. I pounded his motionless titan until it fell over and broke.

Bully, beating up on a poor old man, have you no shame?

I did win one against AutoHost but it was just a matter of me having more firepower (5 gme's).

Played a great great game vs Rosary and got my head handed to me. He had 2 mediums (illuminator and something with too many guns) and two recons (an enigma and a firefly i think) to my two Heavies (both beamers). The fight lasted almost 1000 secs with both of Rosary's mediums totally out of ammo at the end (unfortunately being legless and face down made it hard for me to capitalize upon this). Wound up getting my head kicked in. The game was Rosary at his best (the sneaky, merciless #$*%&).

Since you let me play your 300th game against you, I'll use my 1000th post to reply to you. It was a really great game. Your biggest mistake was letting my recons live. Linked scanners and gm are a lot of fun. Its always better to be the 'hidden' titan firing than to have one firing on you.

Played Hetz this morning. He drew a Lich and I drew one of his custom designs, a Render (2xTB, 2xEMP,1xPG) The terrian was heavily wooded and had some good cover via hills and mountains. I immediately went for cover behind a mountain and slowly began climbing it. I heard Hetz jumping around quite a bit. I parked myself with a few good and narrow LOS. I waited and Hetz comes out of the woods on the mountain to my rear/left. As I turn to him he fires and hits with dual AC12s, a EMP, and various missles. Finally I turn to him and unleash the EMP and TB. I get a two for one deal by knocking him down and setting ablaze the hex he is in. I continue to fire and heat allows, and he has bad luck standing a few times. Finally he stands and immediately jumps toward me. I wait unitl I think he is mere second from landing on my head, and then I jump as well. As Hetz comes hurling down, I pass him going up. He lands and I begin to fall back on top of him. He fires one blast of the AC12 and sends me tumbling from the sky. I take various damage trying to stand but nothing has penetrated as of yet. I then rip one of his legs from his Titan. Here, I become too timid. I jump out and seek cover, taking damage while doing so. While heading for cover I take his other leg and I sustain even more damage. Soon my Left Leg is bare, and I have been hit in the head and hurt 3 times. As I am slowly reaching cover I use some target shots to the CT, finally destroying it completely. A hard fought battle and my first Netgame win.

Next time I will be more aggressive, but this game was an awesome learning expereince. Thanks Hetz! I look forward to our next meeting, but expect that I will feel the old geezers wrath!!!

Instead of fighting duels with assaults I personally prefer tiny/small teams. Its much more moving and tactics.

Have 3 games I should get around to reporting.

Played Taren in a game filled with joy and sorrow.
Blew his LL off. JOY

He blew my RL off. SORROW

Destroyed his LO. JOY

He destroyed my CBT. SORROW

I finished off his RT. JOY

Game ended. RELIEF. :p

Played a small team vs PC. He had two Heavies and a recon and I had 4 lights and a recon. Unfortunately for PC one of my lights was a Mirage that I posted on a mountaintop. He had no long range weapons. Game, set and match.

Played a duel of Assaults with Rosary. His Cratermaker ate my Daemon Lord (talk about role reversal)

Fought one hell of a battle with small teams against Hetz. We each had a heavy, 2 mediums and 2 recons. We traded shots from a distance for quite a while, pretty evenly matched, then started closing. A long, confusing battle ensued, and when it finally cleared up, the match was down to my Gladiator and Lehr Magnus against his Tribesman and Scorpion. My Lehr got taken out at Hetz's feet, but a lucky PG shot from my Gladiator nailed his Tribesman in the head and killed the jock. From there, my nearly untouched Gladiator had a strong advantage over his medium Scorpion, although he did managed to knock it down, and then laughed as I failed two move checks in a row. Finally, though, I got to him and blew a big hole in his chest.

Beat Rosary in a duels of mediums, a Purgatory vs his custom Chippewa III (2CLG, 2GME). That was an intense battle. There was a battle of jump port quality which I won

, and which resulted in massive damage to his titan from a DfA. His RT eventually flew off, cutting his arsenal in half. His armor was mostly red, but he refused to go down, mine was mostly green but he was tagging my CT pretty regularly. It was down to 1 AP when his LOT disappeared and his titan crumbled to the ground. A battle of nerves.
