So does this mean you have to have an already purchased game in order to buy this secondary file?
Wargame, 05% of the time.
Play with Barbies 05% of the time.
Play with Legos 10% of the time.
Build models 20% of the time
Shopping 60% of the time.
Exlains why I buy em more than I play em.

Wow, one reason I stopped buying from them. They have good games, but the upgrades are a pain in the butt.

Greetings Lobster,
The recent 4.0 patches and updates have already added the new troop units, vehicle files and scenarios so far for Rome to Victory module. Paying for being able to use these content files is the price of admission.

Restrictions to only two installs at one time is the battlefront company business model. Since I game solo and have just one computer, I have no real problem with it.

Greetings MrsWargamer,
You need the base game Combat Mission Fortress Italy to use the Rome to Victory module.

Greetings Bamilus,
Prices are not cheap for Battlefront products and I wish they were lower. But the titles give a satisfying tactical experience.

Owned all the Lock n Load board games and they were expensive but good product.

I also owned all the Clash of Arms La Bataille series of Napoleonic battles, Seven Year's & Americam revolution Battles in the Age of Reason and several Civil War titles. These make Battlefront more of a bargain to me.

I sold off all my boardgames so I had enough cash to buy matrixgames, Battlefront and John Tiller titles.

Greetings demyansk,
The Battlefront has new game installers that have made upgrades a lot easier for all the Combat Mission series games. With purchase of any title these full game installers can be downloaded and saved to the hard drive for future use as needed. All updates are included with them too.

But I remember the old days when updates and addons were a royal pain to install.
I even held off for a few years , due to this, before buying newer CM game titles. Much easier now to install.

LnL isn't greedy for board games, they're greedy for making a patch and calling it a new game (Command Ops 2) and only offered a weak low discount to previous owners for a few months after release. Command Ops 1 Bulge was like $30-40 and LnL split into three Command Ops 2 modules costing $30 each. Same scenarios, just in the new Command Ops 2 client which is a glorified patch. So greedy.

Well bang for the buck personally is very good indeed.

Look around....see all those similar games out there done aswell or better? No? Really just one of two eh? That's why I'm very happy indeed we have Battlefront doing what they do cos without them tactical wargaming on the PC would be dire indeed. Grand Strat and Operational have many titles new, old and on the way to chose from at CM scale discounting rts like CoH type I honestly only see one other and that's Graviteam Tactics. So I'm very happy we have the likes of Battlefront around and again if you love this scale then the price is well worth paying. BF are always working on the series and modules have more entertainment in hours alone than most full price standalone games.

I imagine those who complain aren't tactical scale obsessives so obviously the cost matters, just like it does for me regarding other scale wargames. The price of a product can for one person be good value and another over priced.

Other companies Im sure would release BF modules as new standalone full priced games. Where BF release it in a cheaper way as a module\expansion.

i also kind of like them, there prices are no better or worse than anyone else's and tbh i support those who still make war games, as there aren't many left still doing them, so enjoy those that still do

^^ Exactly, bang for the buck, the CM games are incredible bargains as there are hundreds of hours of gameplay included.
