Okay, I'm in. I'll visit and vote (but I have no idea what a "bloke" is - it doesn't sound good).

Good man.

No a bloke is not bad [;)] (although one could be a bloke and be a bit of a naughty). Bloke aka chap, man, guy, geezer, fellow, lad, gent, fella, dude or gentleman

Well for those men who a) really do lack judgement, b) aren't afraid to take themselves too seriously and c) understand that it is their duty to use the votes that previous generations gave their lives for, there is a really important competition underway in the General Discussion forum.

Over the last few weeks a competition has been raging to uncover (fnarr, fnarr) the most beautiful character from Game of Thrones. We have now reached the final round or, as the French would say, La Grande Finale, or something.

The two young ladies that have battled their way to this stage are Daenerys and Ygritte.

Perhaps I can tempt some of you to do your masculine duty, lay down your metaphorical cloak on the mud, and help out a damsel in distress? If you feel that this bit of nonsense is not beneath you then please feel free to pop along to the GD forum (link below) to register your vote.

Go on, you know you want to....

tm.asp?m=3083586&mpage=342&key=

(The final detail starts from post 10,250, but its simply a case of choosing which of the two ladies raises your smile, and you can then post the name). Don't worry, as with all voting booths your name and who you vote for is entirely secret and won't be known to anybody else - unless of course they read the post in which case they will know exactly who cast their vote for who.
Who do you call masculine?!

I voted. I'll admit I've only seen about 10 minutes of Game of Thrones, once when the Army sent me to Chicago for a conference and I was bored out of my gourd one evening. The 10 minutes I saw? It was when Sean Bean got axed. [8|]

If you've only seen Sean Bean get axed once, you haven't seen enough movies.

WTF? Why didn't you spend that valuable time recalculating precise port assignments for all the Aden-class resource CS convoy xAKs? Priorities man!

Older, and a ton of make up, is not necessarily better.

Just saw Patriot Games the other night on the old movie channel where Harrison Ford does him in with an anchor just before the out of control motorboat hits the rocks and spectacularly blows up.

Paulette Goddard didn't make either of the top lists I referred to in the original post.

She's one of my B&W-era favorites. It's hard to capture her allure in photos, because so much of her allure was in her perky, sweet demeanor. She was lovely but her loveliness was enhanced by her personality.

This photo is kinda out of character. :)

She was in a number of good Bob Hope movies, the best of which is Nothing But the Truth. I think anybody who views that movie falls in love with her.

Jean Arthur didn't make either list. You'll remember her as "Saunders" in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

I don't believe June Allyson made either list. She was Mrs. Miller in The Glenn Miller Story. She also had a leading lady roll in one of the Three Musketeer movies that had some great actors like Gene Kelly.

She's clearly already ravaged one banana, does anyone rescue the other five before it's too late?

Eating a banana without 6 scoops of ice cream smothered in chocolate, strawberry and caramel sauces plus whipped cream - heresy!
