DaBabes Mod OoB issue

Post by TheElf »

Anyone else playing this mod notice the 38th Division is attached to the 16th Army and not the 23rd? This is killing my timetable for Hong Kong...

Intentional? Looking for an answer from John or duly designated Babes Maven.

hmmm, I guess they thought it unfair to charge the PPs to move it out of China once HK fell. I kinda wish I had some support for it atm.

According to Wiki it was part of the 23rd Army until 4 Jan 1942. That's after the fall of Hong Kong. It was then assigned to 16th Army.

It also says its 230th Regt had its designation changed to the 3rd Mixed Regt which took part in the Java Campaign (probably after some small units were attached). Do both the 230th Regt and the 3rd Mixed Regt exist in the game?

I’ve mainly played Scenario 1 and when I noticed 38th Div’s HQ wasn’t strictly historically accurate I just assumed it was an intentional OOB decision for game play reasons, so the Japan player now doesn’t have to save their first 1500 PP to buy it out to use it in 16th Army.
Your mod makers might just have had the same thought or might not have questioned that Scenario 1 decision.
Currently playing my first PBEM, no house rules Scenario 1 as IJ.

The game could also give the Japanese player an extra 1500 PP to facilitate the HQ change. But, it's unlikely most JFBs would use them to change 38 Div HQ - there are so many other uses.
