File/Open Unit

Post by akdreemer »

Under all three previous version of TOAW one could add saved units by simply using the Open Unit command under the File Menu at the place in the formation selected while in Formation Editor. However I cannot get TOAW IV insert any of my previously saved unite files. Any suggestions? I might add I been designing/editing and playing TOAW since it was first introduced.

Cheers

I use this extensively as well. It is broken in the current version of the game. You can use TOAWIII to edit forces and then move to TOAWIV once you have your forces made. Maybe this works in an earlier release version of TOAWIV. Can't say for certain.

If duct tape doesn't fix it then you are not using enough duct tape.

Any idea whether this is going to be fixed? I find it hard to believe the game has gone through several upgrades and this has been overlooked?

No idea. My fear is it will be fixed but the 'fix' won't be compatible with older unit saves.

Oh it hasn't been overlooked, Lobster reports it about once a month! But it seems that this issue is one of those that isn't a 'priority'.

Great, so now there will be two of us. I find it annoying that a legacy feature stopped working.

I am also having trouble with this, as it will not save units or load them. I just downloaded version 4.1.0.21. The documentation says that this problem was one of the fixes, but yet it is still here. Any more recent word on this problem? Fix?

None that I have heard. Gets frustrating that this was supposedly fixed but not. I have literally hundreds of pre-made units I investing time and energy to create.
