Yes, four smaller bombs that might hit is better than one bigger bomb simply because of the greater chance of hitting. You also get faster rises in experience for them and any escorting fighters.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

Regarding Ichang, are other Chinese moving in? It may be trap and you may end attacking into the reinforcements that will come.

I believe any paradrop makes the subsequent attack a shock attack. I generally try to time my paradrops so that they arrive at the same time as other forces, but I can't recall ever *not* seeing a shock attack with a paradrop.

I'm wondering if i should take a chance at a shock attack considering the values here. I've been bombing everyday so the forts can't be any more than what they start at. any ideas? ive cut off a lot so i don't think anything is moving in.

I think that only the paratroopers would shock attack unless the other units were ordered to shock attack. If their orders were to deliberate attack, then that is what they would do.

The combat reports I've seen just show "shock attack."

It seems units that just moved into the hex (and thus did not have combat orders) will attack when the paras do. If that isn't what is happening then I've beaten a good IJA division with an understrength para brigade at least once... :-)
It is certainly possible that if a unit is already in the hex (with combat orders) it will execute those instead of shock attacking.

You would have to check the fatigue and disruption of the units that move in and don't have attack orders. I have ordered just pure tank units to shock attack, they do so but the accompanying infantry does the normal deliberate attack that I order.

my projections show that i should have 500 Nak-35 engines in the pool by 2/17/42. That's probably okay. wouldn't it be too optimistic to think that any rufe or tojo factories could be fully 30 repaired before then.
