brain teacher- conquest

Post by michaelbaldur »

Belguim is aligned to France.

doing conquest Both France and Belguim is conqured.

when the game pick France first, belguim is allowed to select the new france home country.

when the game picks Belgium first, it can only select its own minor.

the rules says that: all conquest happen at the same time.

SO how should the game be coded to do this right ???????????

What one can do is to first decide which countries are going to be conquered, after which one can program the game to prevent the choosing of a country to be conquered to become the new home country of other countries which are being conquered.

But to have all conquests happening at the same time? The way MWIF is now programmed is that all conquests are done one at a time. I don't know how important it is to change this...

its not really game breaking, but it can effect the gameplay in what order the game selects conquest

not that a home country placement of a minor is game breaking, but it might change the game.

Does it matter? If France is selected then isn't just the Belgian new home country (France) conquered, and the Belgians has to select a new home country in the same conquest step?

Yes, it does matter. If a country gets conquered twice, the force pool is halved twice.

But it is a really minor bug. It's foolish to choose a new home country if that one gets conquered too.

just read the rules .. there are no Half force pool. all land, air and naval in the force pool is removed.

and for supply the choice does not matter

(if you move or place belguim air or land units outsite of belguim and France, and they are later destroyed, and build again.
then thier placement depend on the location of the home country )

but beside from that, there are no effect of the choice

Your are right. There is no difference. But than we can conclude that this isn't a bug...

just read the rules. the bug here is : Belgium was selected first, I could only select congo

Conquered minor countries can pick either any home country of their controlling major
power or any home country that the minor country itself controls.

the solution: always select major powers first

The solution, in my humble opinion, is to do nothing at all. If France is about to get conquered in the same step, then why select France as new home country for the Belgians even if it is allowed?

that the point, you cant select France. the game knows it is conqured.

but accourting to the rules Belguim should be allowed to select the France home country.

we can fix this, by simply conquring France first.

.. right now the game is coded in a way, that France have no home country, if belgium are selected first.
