Medium Titan: Ocelot

Post by Silvermane »

Okay, another shot at the medium titan market. The Ocelot is a rather balanced Short Range/CC design without much electronic equipment. Main armament consists of an AC12 with ample supply of ammunition, backed up by a pair of pulse lasers. Two vibra claws complete the arsenal.

The ocelot does not feature any ECM, shields or DCS; its main "feature" is its outstanding jumping capacity and the rather heavy armament. Jump up to them, and tear 'em up. (Hence the name.)

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

You can increase LOT armor to 33, with 1 more mm :)

Put it in my database for test play at a later date, Just wondering what the heat situation looks like. Does it stay reasonable cool? Definatly a titan for an experienced jock since it requires CC, Cannon, and Energy.

Anyway, I waved the magic armor wand and *POOF* by only changing armor types, dropped heat dissapation by -.19 C/sec and added a few additional points of armor with leftover weight.

Some tips: If your using Titanium over a heat sink, Millinia weights only a tiny tad more but has a 115% heat dissapation mod, if there's enough internal slots left, its worth it to switch. Titanium is primarily for when the # of internals is a limiting factor or you want more AP then other armors allow.

Also realize that a mm of armor will weigh different amounts depending on what body part you put in on (ie. 33mm on CT is heavier then 33mm on LoT) In the following dl I could have either one torso as Vincinium and the CT as Mill. or vica-verse, either way the heat would be the same. With the millinia on the torso there was a wieght savings of .15ton... not much but it adds up. Just ask any jock that has walked away from a fight with 1 AP left over his engine and what you did with that .15tons is all-of-a-sudden the most important disission you made for your titan :)

I have one of my Vetreran jocks currently running around in an Ocelot.. he likes it :) Definatley a titan for a jock with a little more experience because of the 3 weapon catagories (my guy is lagging in energy weapons, but a couple more battles will even the 'to hits' up.)
