Post by USSAmerica »

This great game turned 10 years old over the weekend. What an amazing 10 years it has been, and how remarkable is it that our community is still so active after 10 years!

Cheers to this grand game!

It's absolutely remarkable that a game that is 10 years old has such an active community.
Many more years to come.

Indeed!

Now has anyone calculated how long before the game has been around three times as long as the war it represents? :-)

A birthday that a vast majority of modern games would invariably meet in a dustbin. Not so for WITP AE! [&o]

Quality lasts, either that or else it takes so long just to get through a few games.

Amazing decade with this community and gaming experience!! [&o]

I started to play when snowed out of a travel back for Christmas just as AE was released. Still remember that two weeks. Watched The Pacific and then searched for a decent game to play in the theatre. Found AE.

This forum is what got me through to the place where I could enjoy it and handle the level of detail. Thanks to all for the many years of drama, exhilaration and devastation this game has added to my life. [8D]

I still play nearly every day. At the $100 initial cost that comes out to about .027 cents per day.

So 10 years [:D]

Happy Birthday WITP - AE

While I have only been around for 3 years there are other ways to express it must be abundantly obvious [8D]

(i) $0.0007612 cents per hour of game enjoyment (as noted above)

(ii) Approximately 2.3 PBEM GC campaigns from Dec 7 41 to ~ Aug 15 1945 [;)]

(iii) Approximately 27 vs AI GC campaigns from Dec 7 41 to ~ Aug 15 1945 [;)]

(iv) 67.333 things learned from the knowledgeable forumites - community [&o]

My thanks to the game and community

Time flies doesn't it! Can't believe its been 10 years!

Can't think of many other wargames residing on my hard drive as long....probably just the HPS Panzer Campaigns series.

Oh, take my word for it, it does. In fact everyday now feels like 10 months, but that's another story.

As far as the game goes, its fantastic.
