Japan. While both Japan's empire and her economy are both shrinking, Japan is a long way from finished. The allies have a daunting and costly task ahead of them if they intend on invading Japan's home islands.

Turn 33. Jan/Feb 1945. Axis #1.

Germany. Watch in the Fatherland (1/2). Hitler conceives of and orders a counteroffensive against the allies in Western Germany which he states will drive the Anglo-Americans out of Germany like a bunch of whimpering dogs. Two German field armies are allocated to this operation, which is under the overall command of von Rundstedt.

The southern Germany army initiates the operation by attacking and destroying the one British 1st airborne division.

Turn 33. Jan/Feb 1945. Axis #1.

Germany. Air Reorg. Goering boasts that his Luftwaffe will be able to resupply a corps and heavy artillery division by air. For once, Goering delivers on his boasts and also manages to shot down an elite US fighter wing.

I definitely feel like losing the para division was an entirely preventable situation. Probably also losing that CW ARM corps was, as well. But it's 1945, so it probably doesn't really matter (except for the dead pixel soldiers and their pixel families). Although the disorganised units might make some Allied attacks that would have been questionable to poor in this weather into reasonable affairs.

Turn 33. Jan/Feb 1945. Allied #4.

US O-Chit. Eisenhower (double land combat factors). Monty in the north has been making his case to Winston and to any British general that will hear him that HE and not Eisenhower should be in charge of the allied forces. Also, he's been lobbying that his army group should be getting the major of the resources as he's in the best position to exploit the situation. Diplomatic as always, General Eisenhower, who just got his 5th star, made it clear to Monty in no uncertainty terms that the Western Allies would continue with their broad front strategy and, furthermore, he personally was taking command of an upcoming major offensive with two army groups pushing in the center and from the south.

It's said of Monty that he's a wonderful general to be under, a difficult general to work with if your his equal and an impossible general to command. After his meeting with Eisenhower, Monty stormed out with the intention of showing him and these unprofessional yanks what a real offensive push looks like.

MTO (2/2). Rome. The reorg artillery division gives the allies a 10% chance next impulse (if they get another impulse this turn) of flipping the German corps.
