Server Game info not right

Post by Hellen_slith »

Maybe I'm not understanding this, but some info in this screen seems to be not correct.

So, these two instanced games shown below are ME versus the same opponent: in one game, I am NATO and in the other game I am WP.

So why does it say "NATO" for the side in both instances? One of those should say "WP" for side.

Also, the "Turn" column info is either not right, or misleading. I know for a fact that we are not on turn 16 in that one instance. I think what's happening there is that it is counting each of our moves as a "turn". So, in reality, we are on turn 4 in the one game, and on turn 8 in the other.

But that cannot be right ... I'm pretty sure we are not on turn #8 in either of these games. What's going on here? Am I just not understanding this screen?

At the least, I know that "side" is not right ... on ONE of us is NATO in these turns awaiting my move.

Just checked on where these games are by starting the turns ... in my thinking, that screen should have said,

Instance 143087, Turn 9, side NATO (b/c that is the side and turn I played)
Instance 143088, Turn 9, side WP (same thing, in that one it was my WP turn 9, not turn 16)

Is kind of weird in all my other games, it seems like this screen doesn't show what's really going on as far as "turn" and "side" are concerned.

I make it a point to never use PBEM++

If duct tape doesn't fix it then you are not using enough duct tape.

+1 I've had more than one game truncated because of the PBEM++ system. Use with care.

The "Completed Games" tab is also not updating. We completed a game (unto the Victory Screen information) and the "Completed Games" tab remains blank. Doesn't seem to update at all. The completed games tab should show players a rundown of what they've played, how they've done, etc. Something like this:

That would be cool if it did.

Also you can view the last turn from an ended game or a resigned game.

One of my opponents reports that he is not seeing any victory screens (even though I have seen two, in two of our games). This really needs to be fixed, as it renders the whole "online" challenge feature practically useless.

More incorrect information being generated by Slitherine via email received today, which I quote:

"Dear Player: The following game has completed .... This game is now complete but you can view a playback of the final turn by running The Operational Art of War IV and clicking Multiplayer. Select this game from the list of current games and click Play." (emphasis added)

There is no "Multiplayer" option to click. There is no list of current games under that nonexistent option. If this is an option that I am not seeing, please explain how I might be able to access same.
