Big Tip for Mission Map: Neutron_Device

Post by Sleeping_Dragon »

With out any spoilers... Best to run this mission with at least a recon or two. Might be worth it to put that in the briefing instead of just a refrence to 'fast team' once you enter the mission...
It's doable without recons... but trust me.. take some recons. Just barely missing is WAY worst then a big miss.. play the mission you'll see what I mean.

My Veteran team of 4 lights got spanked... hard... would have killed for a recon.

Was my 1st mission, was still a blast 'pun?', will do this one agian :)

Well, the briefing says Squad Requirements 160 tons. That should give you an idea, along with mentioning a fast squad.
Did you try it using good jump ports?

I figured the requirements were minimums, not 'suggested', and I could have run it with 3 lights, 210tons is fairly close. The 'fast titan' reference in NOT in the briefing, it's like in the the first pop up screen AFTER the mission starts IIRC, will double check.
No I didn't have good JJs :o only level2 I think, I effectively only got 1 full jump out of it and I used it in the woods not the hills/quicksand since I didn't notice the quicksand early enough. Had to turn my scanner off just to get a partial 2nd jump since I ran the whole way my PUs were 'taxed', didn't help that it was a L1 chassis either (slowest light) but that was the titan that had the 'shortest' distance to the target, not sure if one that was further away would have made up the difference though.
Was a good mission, just needed to be 'warned' about the speed thing earlier.

I did it with 4 Light Titans. Barely. Take a Recon.

Congrates.. I missed by 1 hex. GGgRrrrr... still makes me mad

I didn't have very good jump capibility, a light with good jump jets will get you there in under the time limit. What light did you use Widowmaker?

I was using 4 custom Lights. The big advantage was that one had Jump 4. Having a JMT of 12 and 84 (or so) jump seconds saved me. And he fell once, even.

Light Titan used was Light chassis 3, Jump 4. That's the critical movement stats.
