Combat losses calculation

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Combat losses calculation

Post by The Land »

Hi all,

So the combat loss calculation in the manual is as follows:

Attacker Losses = Defender’s Combat Multiplier * (Defense Type Value + Defender Experience / 3) - Attacker Multiplier * Attacker Experience / 3

Defender Losses = Attacker Multiplier * (Attack Type Value + Attacker Experience / 3) - (Defender Multiplier * (Defender Experience / 3 + Defender Entrenchment + Defense Bonuses))

That is to say: The Attacker's Attack value does not affect the Attacker's losses. The Attacker's Defence value does not affect the Attacker's loses. The Defender's Defence value does not affect the Defender's losses.

Can I just check this is right? If you have an Attack 1 unit attacking a Defence 1 unit they will be more or less stalemated, if you have an Attack 8 unit attacking a Defence 8 unit they will knock lumps out of each other, but the Attack 8 unit will knock the same size lump out of a Defence 1 unit as it will a Defence 8 unit, just take fewer losses in the process.

Thanks!

This looks correct in terms of how the game calculates losses
