Changing Hex Scale to other than Kilometers

Post by SNaidamast »

Is there a way to change the hex-scale to something other than kilometers in the scenario editor?

It appears to be quite limited for a lot of engagements that some would want to design.

Thank you...

You'll just have to use a convert online for example. So if your resource states each hexes would be roughly 12.5 miles you can just convert that to get 20km per hex.

What if I wanted something like 500 yards? Is there a way to make this work in TOAW?

Well, you would use the 1/2 Km scale and use a Force Movement Bias of 109. Technically, you would also need to do an equipment edit in which all ranges are scaled by 1.0936 as well - but you might get by without doing that.

There would also be the issue of direct fire ranges that exceed 500 yards. If you have equipment with such ranges, that would be an issue. Currently, the only way to handle that is via house rules.
