Mike, if you prefer seeing all the individual planes instead of a single group icon for the whole flight, the V key allows to switch between group and unit view.

The Rebels tried to take out two of my Tomcats.

The Rebels had another Flanker stray too close to my F-14s. They then sent three more my way, but they turned around before getting into range.
Good start to the day!

Not sure that was worth it. Although, the rebel losses are mounting...

A high speed dog fight with the F-14s lending a hand. I won the engagement, but came out even on points.
I'm glad I tried playing this through a bunch of times. It gave me the opportunity to better understand the different capabilities of the fighters. I was pleasantly surprised by the F-14s.

The two rebel planes turned out to be Flankers, and both got shot down. This time, I lost no planes.

Mike, 920kts is the default afterburning speed of most modern fighters in the DB3000 (a bit simplistic but finding individualized data for each plane is probably somewhere in between daunting to outrigh impossible for retired models).
Ironically the Foxhound (and it's predecessor the Foxbat) is one of the few outliers with a much superior AB speed of 1350kts if memory doesn't fail me. So if those two bogeys are keeping it steady at 920kts, they can be anything but Foxhounds (AI never uses "custom" speeds and always employes default speeds based in thrust settings).
If you want to check the speeds for a given plane, a table with the default speeds, based on altitude and thrust setting, is included in the DB sheet of every plane. It's next to the bottom of the file.

EDIT: Ninjaed, Im still leaving the post here as a future reference

Between 0700 and 0800, the Rebels sent four more Flankers towards the CAP 100 force and quickly lost all four of them. Most of my planes have started heading back to the carrier.
That was fun!
