Liberating France, defeating Vichy France, Vichy Partisans

Post by Hartmann »

These questions might already have been asked in the past, but a quick cursory survey of the first three pages didn't yield anything - so here goes:

- When France is liberated, and Vichy also has fallen (in any order), shouldn't there be an event to reunite Vichy with France? I mean: It would be nice if France could be made "whole" again, wouldn't it? (If there's such an event, it did not fire in my game at least.)

- Also: I noticed that when Vichy is occupied by the Allies, it can spawn Axis Vichy partisans - is that really intended?

Hmm, if that event exists, this means that in the game I'm playing something prevented it from firing for the AI.

Someone knows what the exact conditions are?

Maybe there's a per turn chance? For after what seemed alot of turns, the event suddenly fired without any noticeable change of circumstances.

I still find those Vichy partisans fighting for the Axis kinda strange.

Hi

You can always find the conditions for any Decision Events in the Strategy Guide for the campaign, and this can be accessed while playing from the top right of the screen.

Hopefully the conditions (see below) help explain what happened and when?

Event fires: From the 1st January 1943 after the Allies liberate France, Marseille, Paris, Dijon, Lyon and Montpellier are in Allied hands, and there are no Axis units within 4 hexes of either
Paris or Marseille. If Guyana, French West Indies, Mauritius and French Somaliland are in Allied hands then they will also rejoin France.

Thanks Bill, I think this explains it - there must have been remnant Axis forces still within 4 hexes of Marseille.

Thanks also for the headsup regarding where I can find the events descriptions/conditions - I thought I would have to dig in game folders to find those.

What about those Vichy partisans fighting for the Axis, though?

It's on my list to look at, it should be possible but it'll be a little complicated to implement. [:)]
