Hmmm... wish there was an easy way to visually determine which titans in my database are NOT stock, and which ones are MODIFIED stock. I know I've imported several recons and lights, and if I just replace my 1.tos and 2.tos with these 2, then I'll probably loose the ones I've modified/created/imported.

I wouldn't worry too much about the stock ones you modified, the new ones are significantly better, if you don't like the new ones you can always re-modify them if you find out if you still don't like the newer versions.
As far as imported/created titans goes. Before you overwrite the old .tos file with the new ones. Go into your current database and EXPORT all the lights and recons that you have imported/created. Overwrite the .tos files, then go IMPORT the ones you just exported. Is quick and easy.... if a bit convoluted
actually don't even overwrite the old .tos files.. just move them somewhere 'safe'.... just incase.

Power does not corrupt; It merely attracts the corruptable.

But if you want to "upgrade" your squad titans to the new specs, just go to the factory, hit the pinboard, go to the squad's titan and with the printout make the corresponding changes yourself. It's easy to do. Most designs actually got cheaper with the changes, so money shouldn't be a problem - quite the contrary. You'll probably manke some

The custom database is not the holy grail of titans. One of its purposes is to give players some guidelines to titan design. Titan design is a major part of this game too, and as fun as duking it out in the battlefield. Generally, players will build their own designs (or modify existing ones) to suit the jocks in their custom squads.
The database has some good designs, and some not so good designs (or at least apparently not so good). It also pretends to show diversity in titan design, not just cold efficiency. Playing another person's design is a challenge on its own, trying to figure out how the design is supposed to work.
Squad titans are absolutely customizable. As long as you have the cash, you can do whatever you want with them, and the changes will only reflect on that specific titan - not the original in the database, if that's the case.
This even allows you to save cash at times. Say one of your rookie jocks rises in rank and you want him to pilot a light, and you also want to hire another jock. Instead of selling the recon and buying a light and another recon, refit the recon to suit the new jock's skills, and buy only the light.
