naval part can be abstracted?

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

naval part can be abstracted?

Post by fulcrum28 »

great game, but just i wonder if the naval part could be abstracted somehow so we can avoid the tedious actions micromanaging naval units, and waiting for the AI moving theirs. They dont really add anything to this scale and cannot be simulated with the same principles as they did with ground warfare.

Agreed its a great game.

The naval component IMO is the games weakest component and could use a serious overhaul. Many others agree with me.

Once you get up to speed try PBEM, much fun.

See this thread - https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4565446

A Naval Mod is part of the World at War Community Pack. It could be adapted to War in Europe as well.

How don't they add anything to the scale?? Navy is quite important in game, I believe they stroke the balance nicely and it is as important as was in the real war.

The principles are quite the same; vessel effectiveness derives from supply, morale and tech. And there are several differences as there ought to be, (eg supply instead depends on the action the vessel 've seen since last time it was in port).
