Multiplayer Campaign Question Vs and Coop...

Post by GrdAdmiral »

In regards to the multiplayer campaign...

Originally, Coop was going to be a part of the campaign. Is this still an option or has it been completely removed from the game?

Is the campaign playable in multiplayer like Close Combat A Bridge To Far or The Russian Front, etc..?

I heard that the axis player wouldn't have the same options as the allied player (i.e. special gear, breaking teams apart, etc..) Is this true? Is there a chance of the axis player being able to have this options later?

I can't wait to play this game on 3 Oct 19! Thank you for all your hard work with this game.

Coop is supported in MP yes, via a very simple force sharing mechanism.

Axis forces do have upgrades. Typically they can create scout, tank hunter, sniper, and assault teams. Some have extra equipment that was on TO&E but not necessarily assigned to specific personnel, like the extra MG42 in the German 1944 infantry company.

The thing about playing the campaign as Axis is that the action follows the US 1st Infantry Division. So the Axis player's force changes periodically and they won't get to keep troop experience and history.

Play co-op as the US side has both players sharing control of the same force and it carries over throughout the operation/campaign.

Thank you so much for the information and feedback. I’m looking forward to the co-op play this weekend! :) Any chance of upgrading a Bridge to Far to 3D?

I was watching your recent Twitch broadcast, but wanted to ask a question based off something the guy said. He mentioned that support teams wouldn’t carry over? But that seemed like an error, as all previous close combat games the support units carried over. I just was wondering if this was in error or just a Beta thing?

Support units keep their history until 1) they are disbanded due to falling below minimum strength or losing vital equipment (like the gun or vehicle) or 2) you move to a different map in an operation.

Thank you for explaining. I’m pretty excited. Could you please do a preview video of the co-op and how it will work? Any chance the historical videos make a return? The real footage was amazing.

What is next for the series after the bloody first? Any DLC or remakes of A Bridge Too Far or The Russian Front? Or a German Campaign following Rommel in North Afrika with the Afrika Corps? Tobruk? Monty and the British 8th Army?

It is a bit early to talk of future content. However, now that we have made such advancements with the new engine, the wait won't be nearly as long.

I fear 3D is going to be a step back after seeing infantry squad sitting on a hill some with LOS,
the squad all shooting but some of them shooting into the hill 3 inches in front of them!

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life
