Feels like old CC.

Post by wodin »

Really does feel like old CC.

I've mentioned the camera is to restrictive (Tim at RPS said the camera was made more restrictive in the release build, which he also found a pain) also the text popping up in transparent box can be hard to read currently. Can there be an option to alter the box transparency?

Next regarding Ambush. It's difficult to tell currently how well camouflaged your units are when in Ambush more. Just had my anti tank gun picked apart when in Ambush from a distance I thought they'd be OK at being in Ambush mode and I presume camouflaged. Ambush was then pointless. Maybe units in Ambush mode at start of scenario be much more difficult to spot representing being camouflaged etc.

PAuse game options. Like some options where you can set when the game should auto pause at certain events.

you can alter the view to suit your own style of playing, i've done it since the first game came out with the same engine tbh, as i like to play how i wish to view, but more of that later, it's the same game, just a new engine with newer maps and units and new UI etc and battles, so if you loved the first one, this should be a easy as a new glove or boot from the same makers of a older pair you've owned and loved

If a gun or vehicle starts the battle on Ambush they will be camouflaged until they move or shoot. If you give an ambush order after battle starts they don't get the camouflage bonus but it does make guns somewhat harder to spot.

There are some technical and design reasons why the camera view angle is restricted, part of which has to do with the transition to the Archon engine. You can mod the view angle but the game wasn't originally designed to handle low angle viewing there can be issues.

The camera angle is tweakable in DATA/MAPVIEW.TXT, but bear in mind the angles were set against the fact the models are not designed to be seen highly zoomed in.

Can you be more specific on what box you are finding it hard to read against? A screenshot would help a lot.

Cheers

The tilt isnt so much more zoomed in just be able to get lower to the ground. Zap screenshots show what I mean. So that's covered.

It's the pop up boxes that describe units in the Force Selection window aswell as detailed unit description box during tactical battles.

Print Screen key isn't working for me to then create screenshot sorry.

to get print screen to work, then alter this file with the red arrow

Image

and add the line ScreenShotOutput 1 to the bottom file, then the screenshot is in the correct format also to upload and is stored in the screenshot folder shown with the yellow arrow.

there is a inbuilt screenshot maker and taker in game, but for me it does it in the wrong format and i'm to lazy to alter it and convert it back, so just use above which works and lets me then edit or alter the file after printscreen is pressed in windows 10 and i don't also need anything else on the pc to view the format

Why would they disable screenshots by default. That is just strange, and seems unnecessary.

Well, if you have to modify a text file to get Print Screen to work, as you described, then it is disabled by default.

no it works fine by default, it just saves the file in the screens folder but in a tga format, which i don't like

so print screen works fine with no need to edit if you don't wish to, i was just given a option for those who liked a better format or choice as to what format there screenshots came in, sorry for the confusion [:(]

The key to screenshot is F2. It places the shot in the folder Zak describes, and as he says you can alter the format it outputs to. It may be we should default to JPG in the system tweaks.
