Update - October 4th

Post by Surtur »

Hi all,

Many thanks for all your praise, responses and feedback!

We have a little update ready for you. This fix should address some load/save crashes that have been reported, as well as a number of multiplayer (serial code) issues and localisation problems, as well as several other minor fixes and changes.

The update can be downloaded from the members area and will shortly be available on TrueUpdate from your launcher.

If you still encounter problems with multiplayer after this update, be sure to let us know and we shall investigate further.

We are looking forward to your continued feedback.

Cheers,

Surtur

The link in the member area doesn't work:

"The requested URL /pub/CloseCombatTheBloodyFirst/CloseCombatTheBloodyFirst-UpdateComp-v1.00.00a.zip was not found on this server."

Thanks for the spot guys. I have asked the server team to see why the links are not working. The direct link in the OP is working from what I can see.

Does the auto updater work correctly?

Cheers

Updated through one of the links provided. Is it normal that after the update, when you click the cogwheel to open the options, on top-right corner it says Build 0.9.0?

That is showing the EXE version, which is different. We will change the text to make it less confusing.

How can you tell if you downloaded the patch correctly on Steam. Steam says it downloaded a 0.0MB file update.

Steam should always keep the game up to date. The hotfix is very small, so likely didn't take up a ton of data.

You can always verify the integrity of the game files. This always ensure that you have the last version installed.

When I run the patch file it tells me that I don't have the game installed. That's absolutely incorrect. I bought the game from Steam and installed the game using Steam's procedures. I assume that I have to let Steam update the game. It's too bad that there isn't any place in the game to see what version is installed.

If you are on Steam, you will always need to rely on Steam to update your game. The latest update was a hotfix and did not increment the version number. Future patches will.
