Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Script

Post by HOTEC »

I want to modify the performance of the Soviet AI in the 1941-45 Campaign and cannot find the script.
a) Is there a way to get it?
b) Editor allows the loading and saving of a script. Is there any add-on available for downloading the script in text format?
c) A scenario has to have many turns. How can the script be saved turn by turn as described in Section 4.14 of the Editor Manual?
d) What is the language used in the script?

Script can be done for any first turn in any scenario. It's a binary format file recording moves done manually by scenario designer. It can only be recreated from scratch, not edited. Save/load is only for moving the script between similar scenarios that can share the moves.

So to sum it up you can't have a script for multiple turns nor for the player going second.

When I play computer vs computer, AI seems quite intelligence.
Is the Section 4.14 - Scripting the AI not applicable herewith? How to design a scenario?
The Editor seems to tell how to setup units. Little have described how to make a battle.
WitE 2.x should let the user to design the scanario for solitary purpose.
