Be sure to guard the rail base east of Perth (Cunderdin?) - the Japanese love to take it with paras to isolate Perth.ORIGINAL: Andy Mac
OK the Japanese have stalled off NZ my reinforcements are ashore 6th Aus and 2nd NZ are close to Perth and so far so good
Ceylon the Japanese have 25k men ashore at Koggala but I have them stalled with 18th British and 9th Indian Divs holding them

Lt Colonel Ellsworth and his troopers in their mix of Humbar and Rolls Royce Armoured Cars of the Nelson/Marlborough Mtd Regiment not only recaptured Invercargill they also led the victorious forces of the 1st Otago Bn and 1st Southland Bn as part of the NZ 3rd Infantry Bde in recapturing QUEENSTOWN and encircling the Japanese invaders.
In the north Island 8th NZ Bde supported by 7th and 8th NZ Bdes and 41st US Div eliminated the Japanese presence at Palmerston North #
For 24 hours the North Island was free of Invaders and then....
Ground combat at Tauranga (116,187)
Japanese Deliberate attack
Attacking force 10022 troops, 26 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 459
Defending force 1401 troops, 26 guns, 2 vehicles, Assault Value = 45
Japanese adjusted assault: 192
Allied adjusted defense: 6
Japanese assault odds: 32 to 1 (fort level 2)
Japanese forces CAPTURE Tauranga !!!
Combat modifiers
Defender: leaders(-), preparation(-)
Attacker: leaders(-)
Japanese ground losses:
403 casualties reported
Squads: 1 destroyed, 37 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 1 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 3 disabled
Guns lost 1 (1 destroyed, 0 disabled)
Allied ground losses:
957 casualties reported
Squads: 31 destroyed, 23 disabled
Non Combat: 19 destroyed, 12 disabled
Engineers: 10 destroyed, 2 disabled
Guns lost 21 (20 destroyed, 1 disabled)
Vehicles lost 2 (2 destroyed, 0 disabled)
Units retreated 1
Defeated Allied Units Retreating!
Assaulting units:
4th Division
Defending units:
N Force Detachment
This is a major problem as this is a full Div with support and supply and my troops need time to refit after the battle of Palmerston North

In your earlier nasty scenario I managed to hold Ceylon, used 6 & 7 Aussie plus 18 Brit Divs as well as the Indian Bdes. I set up a base in southern India and flew in lots of troops and supplies. (Killed at least 6 IJA Divs, the AI doesnt do a Dunkirk)
Just when you think you are OK, there is another landing where you only have an ISF battalion.[:D]

RE: Preparing for the Battle of Dunedin
Unfortunately 6th Australian Div is in Australia
7th Australian has been retained as the backbone of my Chittagong defences
and 18th british Div got chewed up by the heavy arty and BB bombardments on the beaches of Koggala
I have 18th British managed to extract a weak ahead of the Japanese main attack on Koggala so recovering
9th Indian Div in so so shape
and
about 6 Independent Bdes ( a mix of Indian and Dutch Regts)
So effectively about 4 Divisions digging in for a long siege at Colombo
The only good thing is the massed AA I have assembled I am not going to try and contest air superiority my AA Guns will take a fearsome toll of any CAS attacks

RE: Preparing for the Battle of Dunedin
lol well we are now at the end of May
Ceylon Theatre the siege continues and I am trying to sneak supply cnvoys in under cover of 200+ fighter based at Colombo and Trivandrum - I must keep my supply levels high
Australia the Japanese have taken NW Australia and have just landed at Caranvon as well as advancing on the Darwin rail line
In NZ 3 further landings at different spots its starting to feel like wack a mole
Hamilton holds, I retook Tauranga but the Japanese have landed at Gisborne, Warangui and Greymouth - they are contained except at Greymouth where they have managed to expand

Yikes, you need heavy US div's in both NZ and OZ … only May? You haven't been able to collect enough PP's to buy enough out, let alone get them on a boat.
You gave yourself some extra PP's though? How many?
