Walk-on pilots

Post by Libertate »

Does anyone know from where the walk-on pilots come? Every two game weeks I check my squadrons (Allies) as a part of pilot training/management. I have noticed pilots showing up on the rosters whom I have not assigned to the squadron. They are always in Group Reserve status; and they often have a delayed arrival date.

Are these guys just walking onto airfields with forged papers, claiming to be pilots? I can imagine that happening in the States; but in places as far afield as New Guinea and Burma, I'm really left scratching my head.

Thank you.

They are either WIA/MIA pilots returning to their unit, or historical pilots who served in that unit around about that date.

Thank you. I'll tell my engineers they can stop building the chain-link fences around airfields.
