1.04, "wrong facing" targeting bug

Post by headcount_slith »

I'm still running tank vs tank tests and seeing odd things.

The pictured Sherman refuses to fire at a spot that shouldn't pose any problems. The GUI shows "WRONG FACING".

1.0.4 only has minor changes from 1.0.3. But thanks for the additional save.

Cheers

Here's another example of "wrong facing" with area fire. The Stuart won't open fire on the in-LoS bank but when a German inf unit appeared close to the targeted spot, when asked to, it was happy to open fire on that.

Incidentally, this test also looked a bit fishy from a penetration pov. The PSW 222 blasted away at the rear of the M5A1 for ages without causing any damage, and when it did finally penetrate the only consequence was a "gun out". Shouldn't a 2cm KwK 30 fare better against the thin (25mm-ish) vertical rear armour of an M5A1?

And when I continue the test, moving the Stuart to another spot close to the AC, I get an illogical steep angle situation (AC refusing to fire).

Don't suppose they can move the "Battle Paused" from the middle of the screen, ruins a good screen shot. How about putting it in bold and bright letters on the bottom UI to the right of truce button.

That was actually one of the first things to bug me when I hit pause.

Is this being looked at, i just rage quit a really good battle because my two tanks which i maneuvered to the direct rear of a stug could not engage it due to this bug.
The thing turned around and took out my tanks as they sat idly by.

Argh, i so need this game to be fixed because it is beautiful, especially in the 2.5D type (L key) view preset. Maps are amazing and gameplay is very intriguing.
It just really needs the weeding done
