Ok, I really would like to start a PBEM.

But I am worried a patch will come along that will render ongoing games kaput.

So will the first patch you are working on be compatible with ongoing games or not?

If not I think I will just play the AI for a while.

It should NOT render the save game bad. The way I have the data set even if I add something it shouldn't affect it. Most bugs so far are internal game mechanisms.
