The USS Nimitz suddenly emerges from the swirling clouds of a strangely electrified maelstrom. 2 F-14 Tomcats sit at cats 1 and 2 straining against their launch shuttles in full afterburner. An E2-C Hawkeye taxis slightly behind them waiting for its turn. A figure in yellow gives a snap salute and leans into the wind screaming over the bow of the carrier as it slices through the dark blue ocean......

Suddenly, six long lance torpedoes slam into the USS Nimitz. Escorts are unable to locate the Japanese Submarine.

I tried to PM Captain Mandrake but the forum software says I don't have permission... [X(] [8|] [&:]

Does anyone know how to contact Mandrake directly?
I think BigB is a personal friend and local. He might be able to contact him directly.

If they were American torpedoes I would say all duds would be a distinct possibly. Japanese not so much.

I have respawned. Mostly intact but my left leg is partly transparent.

Sadly, Pinhead passed away. That messed everyone up at the Mandrake household. [:(] Very hard thing.

Sad to hear. I remember lots of funny stories you told about Pinhead.

My sincere regrets. [:(]

I am glad to hear you are largely intact, and I suppose the leg being transparent is better than perhaps some other body parts being affected.

Sorry to here that Cap. Losing a family pet is hard.
For what we are about to receive, may we be truly thankful.

I had a friend with a great dane. He called her dufus. This smallish dane would bring me a
six pack on the 5th hole of our course when a I called B ahead. Damn, I miss Dufus to. That
dog got a sense of accomplishment you could see when she dropped the six on the green.
I think she got her nickname because whenever she got a chance to ride in the truck, she
always left her ass and tail out. You had to shove her all the way in. Maybe she sucked at
dog math. Sorry about pinhead Cap. If you want to switch up to a two legged pinhead I live
35 minutes from the capitol........of pinheads.

The week got worse. My dad passed away last night from metastatic lung cancer. We only got the diagnosis two weeks ago. He had designated me as medical decision maker for all the 8 sibs and my mom. Man, that was a heavy load. He would have been 89 in a week. 8 kids. 28 grandkids, 8 or 9 great grandkids. He didn't really believe in oil changes. He just drove a a car until it gave up mostly (or, until one of the kids wrecked the thing [:)]). One time he went wild and bought a Ford Maverick with racing stripes. I wrecked the radiator and front suspension running up a curb after I was "run off the road by some gypsies in a van". I doubt he believed me but he never said anything.

Physicist and Program Engineer mostly sold satellites and missiles to generals and admirals in the glory days of "cost plus" contracts. He went to every kid and gandkid's sports things even if you weren't all that great at it. Loved college basketball and track but if you were doing water polo or lacrosse it didn't matter.

Great guy. Oh..for some reason he enlisted in the Air Farce too. Rose to the exaulted rank of Staff Sgt. One time we found his old 45 in the garage as kids and managed not to shoot each other.

Salute!
