Where did my sub go?

Post by mavraamides »

So playing my first game as Axis, I had 4 sub units that I basically would send to the Atlantic and just keep out there till I got a notification that one was low on supplies and then I would bring it back.

But then suddenly I only had 3. So one of them must have been sunk. I check the report every turn and usually see something about me sinking X convoys and Y escorts but never remember seeing anything about losing a unit.

I'm guessing I got a notification of some sort but just missed it.

My question is, how would I have been notified of the sunk sub so I can be on the lookout for it next time?

You have to check the report logs (main screen) each turn and then you can check the combat logs. You just have to be aware to check the logs each turn.

So in the combat logs we can only see what happened last turn right? No way for me to look back 5 or 6 turns to see what happened?

I find myself missing stuff too. I set the default delay to 3.00 sec in options so stuff doesn't flash by too fast during turn resolve, even so, I still miss stuff. The game needs some kind of combat report pop-up when losses are taken that pauses until clicked off screen.

I like that idea. It would also be nice if it was configurable for land / sea / air as naval losses tend to be a pretty big deal but I could see wanting to disable it for land when engaged in a massive land battle as it could get tiresome.

During playtesting we just got used to checking the Turn Report each turn and then drilling into the Combat Log which shows the current and previous turn.

I would not like a any in game pop up for every event each turn, that is what the Turn Report is for and the Combat Log which shows the current and previous turn.

What would be better is if a combat log text file was generated each and every turn, but I'd still want FOW to block or hide things.

The message popups not have a 5s delay and a close button.

You gotta check the reports to see the action.

An easy way is the check the right side buttons.

You gotta keep an eye on your subs.
