Domestic Oil Production

Post by Montbrun »

Hungary should have decent domestic oil production in the Nagykanizsa Province (near lake Balaton) - obviously not as much as Rumania, but this is one of the reasons for the German Lake Balaton offensive - they were trying to retain the Hungarian oil production after the fall of Rumania and the loss of Ploesti.

Italy and Yugoslavia (in Serbia) should also have a small domestic oil production capacity.

Pointed that out already.
Oil imo is way too scarce at the moment - or units cost too much. (Like a tactical air doing 2 strikes costs 4, and the medium bomber 6). That's a lot.

I believe your not managing your oil correctly then. There is plenty of oil for the Axis, you have to manage how you use it. You can't run all the panzers and ships and air planes around every single turn burning up precious oil. But if your diligent with it you can have a stock pile.

Even on the advance settings: Experience (Ubermensch +30) and Computer Bonus Effectiveness (Optimal
+10) I have quite a bit of oil as the Axis.

It is now 1 March 1940 and I have 462 oil way more than enough.

it is incorrect in the manual.

1 for air sups (only uses 50% of the time if defending own territory)
2 for ground attack and tacticals

1 for air sups (only uses 50% of the time if defending own territory)

Does this include use of fighter bombers used on ground strike, or only for air to air engagements? If so Germany may want to heavily research fighter bombers for use as dedicated bombers, specially if they only use oil 50% of the time over own territory.

Which leads to the followup question, is own territory a friendly controlled hex or a national border defined area when considering this rule?

Final fighter bomber question, will they fly ground support missions as bombers do if set to support, or will they only auto-fly air to air missions?

2 for ground attack and tacticals

Per individual strike or total use no matter how many strikes it flys in turn?
