Victory Points

Post by Michael T »

Can we get a running total of VP for each of the Axis and Allies please. Since it is a determining factor in victory.

I know we can see the running tally for each individual nation.

So in the report page, maybe a line that has the total VP scored at the end of the last turn. So as the Axis I see my own total and the Allied total.

So for example in the Sep 14th 39 report I might see:

Total VP
Axis 17
Allies 27

The VPs aren't even between all sides. They are individual requirements based on historical achievements.

I need to understand why you would like those there so I can better evaluate this request. What is the reason for having them on the report page when it already shows somewhere else?

Because according to the victory conditions in the manual (for a two player game) the VP are totalled for each side. see below, page 108 for the manual.
A side that scores the greatest number of

victory points by the end of game and still has a major power that is

not conquered wins the game.

BTW, I think most games will be two player games and will be decided by this total. Unless I totally misunderstand the victory conditions.

To elaborate. WP has VP totalled for each individual nation. These can be used if a game is played with 3 or more players and they wish to assign individual victory.

But for games with just two players, that is an Axis player and an Allied player victory is determined by totalling Germany and Italy versus the total of US/UK/USSR/FR.

The higher of the two at game end wins assuming an auto victory was not achieved.

Have I understood that correctly?

Which leads me to another question. Once France surrenders, what happens to the VP that they acquired up to the point of their surrender? Same goes for Italy.

France is added to the total of course. They are VPs you held during their time alive.

You got it right on the sides winning.

The country VPs are just for your own personal achievement really.

This of course needs to be adjusted as more games are played.

So can my request for running totals be looked at?

I will put a side matchup with % of win total on the list.

Ok, but a total will be better than a %. Or perhaps both would be good. Otherwise I guess my spreadsheet is going to get another entry.
