I would imagine so,Fallschirmjager wrote:Now I got a 4159
I couldnt complete some of the tests...does that take away from my score?
Do you know if you can go online with that benchmarking program and compare with others that way?
Think my HD is 7200rpm and my Vid card will make quite a bit of difference too I imagine.
Trouble is, if its HD prob, in my case it was gradual, all due to the Cpu not being cooled enough and residual heat eventually cooked HD too.
Saying all that, your scores are nearly half mine sometimes which is quite a bit considering you have a 2.2 and 512 ram.

Fj,
The missing tests are for DirectX 8 cards only, your Radeon is a DirectX 7 card.
I would say your Sysmark scores are ok.
3DMark2001...hmm, though the score is a little bit below average, it´s not dramatically low. With newer drivers and a little tweaking you should be able to reach ~ 4800 points.
Btw, sorry to say this but the systems requirements for Call of Duty don´t look too bright for your ATI 7500...

While searching for a solution to my Icewind Dale 2 problem, I noticed something that may or may not be relevant. This is from www.ati.com, on their games troubleshooting list. It seems that some ATI graphics cards can suffer from slow 3D performance when used with Windows XP and 512 MB or more of memory.
The cards affected are:- Radeon, Radeon VE, 7000, 7200, 7500 and 8500.
The given solution is to install Windows XP display driver version 6.13.10.6025 or higher.

You could try registering here:- www.pcadvisor.co.uk, and posting your problem. It's free, anyway, and you should get some response.

here is the ultimate ATI forum:
http://www.rage3d.com/board/
but as i said before, the 7500 might be not
enough for the game.
i have a 3dmark score of around 7000 using some
overclocking and the rage3d tweak optimization.

This is ALL games
I get good performance in my 3d game for 2-30 minutes (depending on the game) then the frame rate just takes a nosedive
Unreal tounry 2003....Cm:BB...Il-2 FB....call of duty
The game doesnt matter
Even games my system should blister slow down after a period of time
2 things spring to mind in view of what you have siad, memory leak or overheating somewhere.
Thats my best guess.

Falls, how many case fans do you have in your system? Does the video card itself have a cooling fan? IS it possible that cable and such inside the case are inhibitting air flow? Is there allot of dust and crud built up on the card, it's fan, or it's memory? Take trhe case cover off with it on, and make sure all the fans are working. If they are, run games with the case cover off for awhile and see if it slows down.

Fj,
Sisoft´s Sandra is a good system diagnostic tool. The link leads directly to the download page.
In many cases a memory leak is caused by a bad driver that is constantly eating up your RAM. When all the memory is used up, the system/graphics performance drops down fast.
Therefore I would strongly recommend to install a new driver along with DirectX 9.0.
...btw, I don´t think your graphics card has active cooling...and digging through to it can be difficult in a laptop...

Had no idea it was a laptop. That may be the problem, guy. I'm thinking you are overheating. Maybe a desktop for the 3d games would be the best move. There are some good deals at http://www.gotapex.com/deals.php
