amphibious transport speed at certain levels?

Has anybody calculated the speed amphibious transports travel relative to the level of amphibious development research?

my experience to date is that
Japanese amphibious transports at level 3 go 7 hexes and the fast amphibious transports go 16 hexes
the Italian amphibious transport out of Sicily with no development goes only 3 hexes
