Custom databases won't work post patch/DLC

Hi there,

I've spent dozens and dozens and dozens of hours making several factions for the game. New sprites, weapons, ammunition, formations, did a lot of research, etc. I've tried to update my custom database with the updated default database. Now, my databases won't work. The game just crashes after 'reading resources.xml', without a crash log. I've been at it for 6 infuriating hours. I've of course changed the numbers etc so that the units align with the ammunition and formations, etc. It just won't work and I'm going nuts. Any ideas?

Thanks mate. No luck though. Now I'm getting some database default checksum error. I've cracked the shits with it, I'm getting way too frustrated. Off to play something else until/if it gets fixed.

If you can post the database here I can debug it and see why it crashes.

Maybe he used DLC-protected content or there is an error made while changing things manualy in xml files.

My guess are merged old and new entries and probably a messed up entry number somewhere. Everything is fixable.

Thanks for the replies. I've got the units.xml file to work just now, by reinstalling the game from scratch and copying them all over again manually. However formations.xml keeps having the same problem. I have all the DLC, if that has any effect on anything. Please take a look at the formations database if you have the time, attached here. I'm sure it's just a silly number error or something I've done but I just cant work it out.

Looks like you've added more than 200 new formations, and that's very impressive. However, I need the units.xml and all the relevant files to debug it.

Alright, done. Thank you. Should be all the relevant files including sprites.

The formation #3104 "Saa'qa Platoon" has references to the unit #1748, that doesn't exist in the units.xml.

I plan on posting my most complete nation (Australia) in a couple of days once I've double checked everything. I also have a somewhat crappy Egypt and some WW2 stuff I'm playing around with. Do you want any of that?
