Close Combat

How is close combat initiated? I get my unit next to the enemy but I can't get into the melee thingee.

Bought the game about three weeks ago. Played SL in the late 70's with my older brother. Speaking of bad influences, both my older brothers took me down the dark road teaching me to play Tactics II in the 60's when I was 10. How do parents let this happen???

You can't advance the unit into the enemy hex during the Advance phase?

rmmwilg is right, of course. You cannot move into an enemy hex during the MOVE phase but in the Advance phase. [:)]
