I have one or two of these units popping up per turn it would seem. Are these the visible Partisans?

Yes, they are partisan units.

They won't leave Russia. It is a good idea to keep a unit at important junctions and resources.

Thank You. I will make some smaller units to protect my supply lines in the rear. The rail option helps me track them down quickly. Awesome game. Keep wanting to play just one more turn. Very addictive.
